I have learnt about internet services past few days...
There are many types of internet services
- www
- FTP
- message board
- VoIP
- instant messaging
First of all thanks to the reader because still stay with me for this week...😉
WWW is a worldwide collection of electronic documents (web pages)
- each electronic document on the Web is called a webpage which can contain text, graphics,animation,audio ,and video
- Web pages usually have built-in connections to other documents
- Not real time
- some web pages are static (fixed) others are dynamic (changing)
- visitors to a static web page all see the same content
- visitors to a dynamic web page, can customize some or all of the viewed content such as desired stock quotes, weather for a region or tickets availability for flight
WWW
website:- is a collection of related web pages and associated items, such as documents and pictures, stored on a web server.
webserver:- is a computer that delivers requested Web pages to your computer or mobile device
Web 2.0:- refer to web sites that provides a means for users to share personal information (such as online social network ), allow users to modify web site content ( such as wikis) and have application through a browser (such as web apps)
e-Mail is the transmission of messages and files via a computer network

- consist of simple text or can contain attachments, such as documents, graphics, or audio / video clips
- some web sites such as MSN Hotmail and Yahoo provide free e-mail services
- you can use e-mail program to create, send ,receive, forward, store, print and delete e-mail messages

combination of a user name and a domain name that identifies the user

INSTANT MESSAGING is a real-time internet communications service that notifies you when one or more your established contacts are online and then allows you to exchange messages or files or join a private chats room with them
Instant Messaging
- some IM services support voice and video
- many IM services also can alert you to information such as calendar appointments, stock quotes, weather, or sports scores
- they also allow you to send photos or other documents to a recipient, listen to streaming music, and play games with another online party

- AIM (AOL Instant Messenger )
- Facebook Messenger
- Google Talk
- MySpace IM
- Windows Live Messenger
- Yahoo! Messenger
VoIP is the conversation that takes place over the internet using a telephone connected to a computer, mobile device, or other device.
VoIP
- VoIP (Voice over IP, or internet protocol) also called internet telephony
- Enable users to speak to other users via internet connection
- To connect calling party to one or more local or long distance called parties
- Example: Skype, WeChat, Kakao Talk
MESSAGE BOARD is an online area in which users have written discussions about a particular subject, it is also called as discussion forum.
Mesage Board
- To participate in a discussion, a user posts a message, called an article , to the newsgroup, and other users in the newsgroup read and reply to the message
- A thread or threaded discussion, consists of the original article and all subsequent related replies
- some discussion forum require that you enter a user name and password to participate in the discussion
FTP is stand for File Transfer Protocol
FTP is the internet standard that permits file uploading and downloading with other computers on the internet.
FTP
- Uploading is the process of transsferring files from your computer or mobile device to a server on the internet
- Downloading is the process of transferring files from a server on the internet to your computer or mobile device
- Example of FTP programs: FileZilla, AbleFtp, SmartFTP.
